CHICAGO – State Senator Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) is encouraging Illinoisans to take advantage of services provided through the Illinois Department of Human Services’ Help is Here hotline and website.
“The COVID-19 crisis is creating new challenges for everyone, and it’s vital that our state makes resources available to help people face them,” Feigenholtz said. “This service through DHS will help make these resources more accessible to Illinois residents.”
The Help is Here hotline and website provide access to several critical state resources in one location. Illinoisans can call or go online to find help with food security, physical and mental health care, housing, child care, domestic violence and other issues.
Services can be accessed online at www.dhs.illinois.gov/helpishere or by phone at 1-833-234-6343.
“There are a lot of people in need of help right now,” Feigenholtz said. “If you’re struggling with the effects of the pandemic, I urge you to check out this service and see what resources are available.”
Feigenholtz’s office is closed for the duration of the Stay at Home Order, but can still be reached at 773-296-4141 or by email at sara@senatorsara.com.
